A Gift for You: Our End of Year Reflections Template

Seven Questions We Ask Our Clients at the End of Every Year

TL;DR - End of year reviews are good, but personal reflections are even better. They are the feedback we give ourselves, and they are often more instructive, honest, and motivating than anything we could learn in a performance review. Below you’ll find our simple template to reflect on the year that’s passed and plan for the year ahead.

At Velocity, we believe that the only thing more valuable than the feedback we receive from our colleagues is the feedback we give ourselves. Sure, we all have blind spots and we sometimes don’t have the most self-awareness (which is why we do 360’s with all new clients), but if given the right prompts, we’re all pretty good at reflecting upon what we’re proud of accomplishing, what we’ve learned, and what we want to do more and less of in the coming year.

As a simple end-of-the-year gift to you, I placed below the list of seven reflection prompts we send to our clients every year. We’ve also created this Google Doc version that you can make a copy of to share with your team.

So, I encourage you to put on some cozy slippers, pour yourself a cup of tea, take out a pen and paper, and journal on these prompts over the holidays. You might be surprised by what you learn! And if you’d like to share your reflections with me, I’d love to hear from you: edward@velocitycoaching.com.
